Floral study, attributed to Maria Richards Oakey Dewing (1845-1927), monogramed lower right "M. O.", oil on mahogany panel, 7 7/8 x 10 inches; period frame, 15 3/4 x 17 7/8 inches. Most likely painted circa 1870, before Maria's marriage to Thomas Wilmer Dewing and possibly while she was studying with John La Farge in Newport.
